HELP AMAZON UNION LEADERS IN NEED!
After being injured on the job, two Amazon workers from New York City have been forced into financial hardship by the world's greediest corporation. Both workers have worked tirelessly to build power with their coworkers, leading friends and comrades to unite in the fight for safer working conditions, higher pay, and respect on the job. We need to raise $5000 to make sure both workers meet their needs this month.
ISAIAH BROOKS
Isaiah Brooks began working at Amazon almost five years ago. In 2022, he joined the first ever campaign to unionize Amazon and helped win a victory at the largest warehouse on Staten Island. He continued the fight at his own warehouse, LDJ5, where he brought together hundreds of people to demand Amazon treat its workers with respect, recognize Juneteenth, and give people secure jobs. Recently, he was injured on the job and Amazon has been slow to provide adequate care and workers comp, despite his injury being clearly work related. He needs our help to make sure his family can stay on their feet while he recovers and continues to uplift the labor movement!
ANONYMOUS WORKER
Due to Amazon's relentless union busting, the other worker in need of help has asked to remain anonymous out of fear they will be fired. But their story will stick with you. After working at Amazon for years, this brave fighter was injured through repetitive motion and stress from lifting heavy boxes. They knew things had to change, and since uniting with the Teamsters they have worked tirelessly to bring leaders together from throughout their workplace. After a family member suffered a severe medical issue, they begged Amazon for time off so they could care for their injury and the family member, but were denied repeatedly. Due to the time constraints, they were unable to make ends meet for the last few months and are being threatened with eviction. Let's have their back, and make sure they can continue to care for the family member and stand up to Amazon building a strong, workers movement across NYC.
Every hour, Jeff Bezos rakes in $7.9 million dollars, while Amazon workers struggle to make rent. It's time to show these workers we have their back.
