Stand with Amanda and her family: Stroke Recovery

Amanda’s health took an unexpected and life-altering turn just before Christmas. On December 23, what they thought was a simple stomach bug quickly escalated. Amanda was taken to Froedtert Hospital, where she suffered two strokes, requiring emergency interventions, including intubation, placement of an external ventricular drain (EVD), and, on Christmas Day, a craniotomy (surgery to remove part of her skull).

Amanda spent 15 days in the ICU, fighting courageously, and she is now in a rehabilitation hospital, working tirelessly to regain her memory, cognition, and physical strength. While her progress is nothing short of incredible, the journey ahead is long and filled with challenges.

Mitch has not returned to work since her hospital admission and has not left Amanda's side. We are doing everything we can to support Amanda in her recovery, but the financial burden of her extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and related expenses will grow overwhelmingly. Between hospital stays, surgery, rehabilitation therapy, and daily living adjustments, we are reaching out for your support to help ease these financial pressures so they can focus on Amanda’s healing.

We have created a fundraiser to help cover the costs of medical bills from her ICU stay and surgeries, ongoing rehabilitation therapy and specialized care, and loss of income.
