️‍⚧️Stand with Alex against Trans Injustice ️‍⚧️

My name is Jennifer and I am helping my friend Alex* a Black Trans man, raise funds to support his relocation out of Texas due to the hostile political climate in this state.

To help protect his identity I have created this fund-raiser with him as beneficiary (meaning, my name is on it and all the money goes to his bank account). We are also using nickname for him in order to increase privacy/safety.

From Alex:

"I am a Black Trans Man surviving in rural Texas seeking funding support to flee this state.

Some experiences I've had to navigate include, at the ER, during a recent medical crisis I was misgendered and forced to take a pregnancy test and was not provided gender affirming care.

During jury duty, there were no bathrooms in the courthouse available for me to use at all.

While patronizing a local cafe, I was accosted by another customer who was verbally assaulting me with religious transphobia.

Legislatively, Texas has been criminalizing trans identity through various laws such as with a current bill making it a felony to commit "Gender Identity Fraud" in which clothing, makeup, and general appearance can be used against a trans person.

They are also removing legal access to life-saving gender-affirming care and including forcing trans people to detransition medically and socially.

One of the more dangerous aspects of Texas is that people take mere suggestions the Governor makes into their own hands in violent anti-trans vigilante enforcement of oppression.

I don't have a passport because Texas refuses to accept Name & Gender Marker change Court Orders for passport applications.

It has also been discovered that the state is quietly collecting a list of individuals who have submitted paperwork to change their name & gender marker on licenses, passports, and even those who have made inquiries about the process.

As the dangers increase, it has become clear that I need to relocate in order to keep myself safe and to access gender-affirming care.

I am currently in school working on a degree so that I can continue the work I do counseling folks as they navigate sobriety and healing trauma.

Your donations will support me in:
  • Moving costs
  • Securing a place to live (rent & deposits)
  • Tuition & books for January 2026 classes
  • Life expenses while looking for work
  • Care & travel expenses for PTSD service dog

As a commitment to my trans community, any funds that I receive over what I need will be paid forward to other trans folks having to flee their homes for safer locations." - Alex

From Jennifer:

As a white genderqueer person living in Texas, I have the opportunity to leverage the privilege I have to "be the face" of this campaign in support of Alex.

Now more than ever, community care is vital for our collective survival and liberation.

Please join me in helping Alex get to safety!
