Stand with a struggling Veteran in His Battle

Donation protected
Just a few dollars out of your surplus can help change the life of a wartime veteran.

This is Kevin McLoughlin III. Retired Marine and wartime veteran who served in Iraq. The battle has not ended for him. He received neck injuries while in Iraq that required multiple cervical fusions. The prescribed steady diet of high dose pain medication, combined with the effects of severe PTSD and other diagnoses, paved the path to the darkness of addiction for him.

The death of a child, a painful divorce and the death of pretty much everyone else in his wartime unit didn’t help either.
His addiction became severe. Despite much help and going in and out of rehab numerous times, he was unable to win the battle over addiction for a long time. Many times he chose life as a homeless veteran as he tried to isolate his loved ones from the pain and suffering associated with being around a severe addict.

One of the only things still driving him is the hope of someday being reunited with his remaining daughter whom he loves very much, and helps financially support, but knows he should not be around as a user.

He has finally gotten some reliable traction in his sobriety and is starting to feel hopeful that he can beat this disease.

Now you are up to date. Here is what is going on now:
The truth is he has been no angel through all of this. Despite the fact that he has cut all his ties with those that have supplied him with his “needs” as an addict, his time of being associated with some unsavory characters is catching up with him. He is looking at doing a year of jail time on a felony crime based on very circumstantial evidence. This will result in him not receiving his retirement and becoming unable to continue to send voluntary financial support for his daughter.

If he is able to secure an attorney, he will be able to avoid this jail time and continue on his path of recovery and support.
His court date is June 26th and the 50% down payment plus a payment schedule for the balance will accomplish this goal. Now that he has his sobriety, current medical issues are causing him to miss scheduled job interviews. Kevin wants to pay for this himself but getting a job has been difficult while he is dealing with current medical issues.
He is not asking for any more than the down payment to get started and wants to earn the rest if he can get his current medical situation resolved.

$2500 down and $2500 paid over time will accomplish his goal.
Will you help give a struggling Veteran a chance? Having coffee at home instead of store bought for a few days would allow you to use the difference to thank a veteran by helping to turn his life around.
