Stand with a Mother: Legal Funds for Kendra

I’m raising a beautiful 8-year-old daughter with profound needs. She is a level three autistic child with developmental delays, and she depends on me for daily care, structure, and emotional regulation.

I’ve been her full-time caregiver since 2019 and have fought to keep her life as stable and supported as possible—through the pandemic, through medical challenges, and now through this difficult separation.

This is not easy for me to write. I don’t usually ask for help, but right now, I’m facing something that I know I need legal representation for, more than ever.

I had my first court appearance recently, and it became clear how much the family court system favors those who can afford legal representation. I’ve done everything I can to prepare and advocate for my daughter, but I’m realizing that having a lawyer is critical to make sure our voices are truly heard.
