For the first ten months, Rene’s case was handled by the public defender’s office. Unfortunately, little meaningful progress was made. As Rene’s future hinges on having strong representation to ensure a fair outcome, in July 2025, we made the decision to hire a highly respected private attorney, Mr. Herbert Weston of San Diego (https://www.westoncriminallaw.com), He comes strongly recommended and has already begun working on Rene’s behalf.

The total cost of Rene’s legal defense is $30,000. We have already put in $15,000 from our personal savings to retain Mr. Weston, and we are now asking for your help to raise the remaining $15,000 to ensure Rene continues to receive the representation he deserves.
