My name is TaNyra Freeman. In March of 2025, I began to feel ill, so I decided to go see my primary care doctor. Some blood tests were drawn and came back abnormal. I was then referred to a hematologist at Mercy Hospital, where I was admitted for critically low blood counts. Initially, I was diagnosed with a rare life-threatening disease called TTP. I began treatments, and unfortunately, the treatments did not work. The hematologist informed me that he misdiagnosed me and re-diagnosed me with another rare life-threatening disease called TMA. Again, the treatments did not work. I was then transferred to Cleveland Clinic Main after going to the emergency room at Mercy Hospital for low platelet counts. When I arrived at Cleveland Clinic Main, a bone marrow biopsy was performed, and I was diagnosed on July 16th, 2025, with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, the same leukemia my mother passed away from. I have begun chemotherapy and I am getting blood and platelet transfusions twice a day.
I have two children, Josiah who is 12 and Autumn who is 7, and my children are my world. Being away from them has been very challenging, mentally, physically, and emotionally as I don't get to see them often due to travel costs as I am further away. My sister TaKaya does what she can, but it's financially a struggle for us, as we all have had our lives altered by my recent diagnosis. School is getting ready to start and due to me not being able to work, I am not able to provide right now like I have always done in the past, leaving the responsibility to my family which has been very tough. This is going to be a long journey, and doctors are unsure if i will be released any time soon. We could use any support in this time, whether it's a donation, share, or even a prayer. It's all truly appreciated. Also, if you're in the Cleveland area and would like to visit, I am always open to visitors. Thank you to those who have stepped in and helped with me and my kids, you have no idea how grateful I forever will be.
Thank you and God bless ❤️
