Stand by Steve's Family in This Difficult Time
Donation protected
It is with an extremely heavy heart that I share this. On the morning of 4 June, Steve DiMartino passed away. Steve left behind his wife Jessica and their 4 young children. Steve had a heart of gold. He was such a hard worker. Nothing In life was handed to him, and he built a beautiful life for his family. If you ever met Steve, even if it was just a brief conversation, it is without a doubt that he in some way, impacted your life. Steve was one of the most loyal individuals you could know. He would always let you know where you stood with him and wouldn't hesitate to give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
Some of you may or may not know, but Steve had been sick for some time. In 2014, Steve was diagnosed with a lung condition called PLCH- Pulmonary Langerhaus Cell Histiocytosis that caused his health to decline drastically. PLCH is a very uncommon cystic interstitial lung disease that primarily affects young adults. It causes you to struggle to breathe, decreasing your oxygen intake and causing strain on other organs, like the heart. The only way to treat this disease was to be put on the transplant list and to wait and pray for a transplant. On October 7 2021, Steve received a double lung and a heart transplant which changed his life in many ways. This surgery and recovery time caused him to be unable to work and forced his very successful business to close. As if this wasn’t enough to go through, transplant patients and their families are often faced with emotional trials before, during, and after the transplant process. Steve has gone through alot the past few years! Even though this was such a huge life saving gift for him, unfortunately anti rejection medications only work for so long and can cause multiple organ failure, which is the case for him.
With his passing and being the sole provider for his family, we are looking to help ease the pressures for his family. If you find yourself in a position and are able to help, I know that the family would be very grateful.
Steve was a truly great husband, father and friend who will be missed by so many.
