Help Kyle, US Veteran, Reunite with His Daughters
My name is Leslie Campbell, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my daughter Ella’s fiancé, Kyle. He is an incredible father, a devoted partner, and a man who has dedicated his life to serving others both at home and in the US Army and as a registered nurse in the city of Houston. Right now, he is in the fight of his life—just to be a dad to his daughters.

Kyle has three beautiful children: two daughters from his previous marriage and a newborn baby girl, Maisie, with my daughter, Ella. From what I’ve personally seen, Kyle is an amazing dad. Both my mother and I have watched him interact with his daughters, and it’s clear how much they adore him. He has followed every rule, every requirement, every court order—yet, despite his best efforts, he is being kept from his children. His ex has actively tried to block their relationship and has made every attempt to spend time with his girls as difficult as possible. There are numerous documented instances of her violating the court-ordered custody agreement.

A Life of Service, Now Fighting for His Family
Kyle’s entire life has been about helping others. At 15, he volunteered with search and rescue. At 17, he joined the Army, escaping a dangerous home life and dedicating himself to service. He became a combat medic, then put himself through nursing school to work in the ER—where he saved countless lives, even working through the most stressful times during the COVID-19 pandemic. But in 2023, everything changed.

While working as an ER nurse, Kyle was injured in a workplace violence incident. He was put on medical leave, diagnosed with PTSD from both his military and medical service, and should have received short-term disability—but instead, he went three months without pay. At the same time, he was struggling to pay legal fees to maintain custody of his daughters. With no family support and few friends outside of his previous relationship, he was evicted and forced into homelessness for two months. During this vulnerable time, legal actions were taken against him, using his financial struggles and PTSD as a weapon to restrict his access to his girls.

For the past year, Kyle has been placed on an unjust and highly restrictive “supervised” visitation order—allowing him only 8 hours a month with his daughters. And even that time has been obstructed so severely that he has gone months without seeing them at all. Their phone access has been restricted, and despite Kyle’s relentless efforts to follow the legal process, his ex has refused to cooperate.

Legal Battles and Financial Ruin
Kyle has exhausted every legal avenue to fight for his daughters. He was awarded free legal assistance from the state of Texas and the VA, but there are no available attorneys to take his case. He has spent nearly two years trying to enforce the existing order, only to be outspent and outmaneuvered in court.

The only way forward is to modify the custody order—a legal process that will cost at least $35,000 in attorney fees. But Kyle is a 100% disabled veteran, living on a fixed income. He simply cannot afford this battle alone.

To make matters worse, false accusations have been made against him in an attempt to justify keeping his daughters from him. These claims were spread publicly and reported to CPS, the Attorney General, his former job, his psychiatrist, the Texas Board of Nursing, and even some of his own friends and family in a strategic smear campaign. Every single one of those accusations has been disproven—yet the restrictive custody order remains in place.

I’ve gotten to know Kyle over this past year. As Ella’s mom, I was as skeptical as any mother would be. But after getting to know him and watching him care for my daughter through a difficult pregnancy and seeing the way he interacts with his daughters and my granddaughter, I can confidently say that the awful things being said about him are simply not true. My daughter would not be with him if she didn’t feel safe. He is a 100% hands-on dad—nurturing and deeply devoted. I’ve watched him care for my infant granddaughter with so much love, and I’ve seen firsthand how much he adores his older daughters. He deserves the chance to be the father they need.

How You Can Help
Kyle is not giving up. His daughters need their father, and he will fight with everything he has to be in their lives. But he cannot do this alone. We are raising $15,000 to cover legal fees and help him take the next steps in court.

Every donation—no matter the size—will bring Kyle one step closer to being reunited with his daughters. If you can’t donate, please share this campaign. The more people who hear Kyle’s story, the greater the chance that justice will be served.

Kyle has fought for others his entire life. Now, he’s fighting for his family. Let’s stand with him.

Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and your support.

With gratitude,
Leslie Campbell
