Stand by Kristy in Her Time of Need

This is my friend Kristy. You probably know her as the dog groomer at Kristy's Pet Palace. Kristy is a very special woman. She has been the biggest animal advocate, leaving her job at the vet- to be a dog groomer now for over 20 years. She has the most amazing heart, and has helped so many people with their pets—whether out searching for a lost pet in the middle of a snowstorm or answering calls in the middle of the night—Kristy is always there to help others. She is probably the most selfless person I've ever met. She never asks for a thing in return and always has a smile on her face.
Kristy refuses to ask anyone for help. But right now, she needs our help. Kristy has been out of work since November, when a sudden spinal tumor was found. She has been in excruciating pain, causing her to be unable to work, let alone enjoy life. Yet, she still answers calls to help our friends and clients with questions they have—'Why is my cat acting this way?' or 'What is the best food for my new puppy?' On Tuesday this week, she had her first spinal procedure done. Although this was the first surgery, a second procedure will need to be done to make her 'all better.' However, after speaking to her tonight, she mentioned that over the last five months of being out of work, she has completely depleted her savings. She has not been able to pay the rent at her grooming shop and is terrified she may lose her business. Those who have had Kristy groom your pets know how much her business means to her. She is very upset and very worried. On top of the shop, she is drowning in unpaid bills. Although she still tries to keep a smile on her face, I can tell depression is starting to get to her. To me, I can see her love of life is slowly fading, as much as she is trying so hard not to show it. She never wants people to 'feel bad' and pity her. The month of December was very hard—not working over Christmas and her daughter's birthday—and she was hoping to be better by Easter to 'make it up' to her 8-year-old daughter. But it's not looking like that will happen, unfortunately, unless we can rally together and help. All proceeds will go directly to paying her shop, past due bills, and a nice Easter basket for her daughter. Please consider helping our friend. She has done so much for our community. So much for all of us. It's the least we can do.
She's not going to be happy with me for starting this. But I figured it was better to start a GoFundMe, so people can see the money going right to her instead of me starting a collection, since most people don't know me, since this old lady doesn't have social media accounts. Which is why I don't have a lot of photos of her—just the pictures she's texted me of my cat when she grooms him. Thank you for helping. God Bless.
