*****update********
My mom passed May 10th at 9:42pm
I was the last to see her and the first to be back as soon as we got the call that she was declining. I truly believe she labored all day and finally went to rest when she was alone to spare us. When I got to her room I felt nothing but peace, and I just held her and prayed and let her know how loved she is. I thanked God for healing her and welcoming her with open arms to heaven. She's always been devoted and lived her life through him as guidance.
I've always known where she was going, and so did she.
I'm finding comfort today knowing that she has been healed and is at peace. She's surrounded with joy and is no longer burdened with time. She is surrounded by loved ones feels nothing but grace and comfort with the lord.
I prayed to her again this morning. Promising we would all be okay, and would find a way to make her proud in the lives we live. She wouldn't want the world to stop spinning for her, she didn't like that kind of attention. And I thanked God again for her unlimited joy and peace, and told her I loved her.
Happy Mother's Day to everyone, you are truly a gift to this world and make an ever lasting impact on those around you. Thank you
***Update from TALIA:
This is the view from her room
she always said there's no blue sky better the one in Washington!I know this information is going to be hard for some people to hear, but it's what we know at this point. Everyday is different as the doctor says, but he also said our days are short. She got admitted to the hospital April 5th and her doctor doesn't see a time when she could come home at this point. She's confined to the bed and is a fall risk, and has been declared DNR for a while now since CPR would be too traumatic on her body. She can't even use her phone, she'll ask for it occasionally but gives up after about 15 seconds. She was declared hospice at one point but the doctor wanted to try one last chemo treatment. They can only give you so much on hospice, really only comfort care, so we put that on pause to try the treatment. The doctors have been amazing at keeping us updated and informed.
Before starting her chemo they told us we're hoping for a miracle. My mom's body has been so weak. Though we don't have lab or scan results back to track if the chemo is making an impact, she has been rapidly declining. The difference seeing and being with her a month ago is drastically different to now. Her doctor said she can be moved to hospice whenever she decides she wants to be done fighting or if we see her quality of life has changed.
I'm asking people to please keep contributing to the meals and dog walks for my family. Our world has been flipped upside down and they need help staying afloat while we spend as much time with my mom as possible. Everyone's love and support is a true blessing. I would have never imagined so many people loved my mom and family, she has the best community around her
Please do not ask to come see her and do not bombard her phone with messages. We are trying to stay as private as possible while we bear this difficult time.
My sister Jolene was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer December 2022.
Jolene has 3 beautiful daughters and a loving husband.
Anyone who knows Jolene would surely say that she is one of the most giving and generous person you could ever meet and that having her as a friend is truly a blessing. She has fought as hard and long battle with cancer and the time has come for her to reach out in seek of alternative treatments that insurance doesn't pay for as well as costs for in home health care now that it's needed for her.
As you know Jolene's not the kind to ask for help however as much as she's given to her community, friends and family it is now time for us all to help her family out in return.
The family would like to thank everyone in advance for their kind words, prayers and donations they mean more to us than you know.
