Stand by Cliff and His Family.

My name is Stacie, and this gofund me is for a good friend Cliff. Mental Health is a big deal especially in our line of work, and now our brother needs our help, as he navigates his way through recovery. This is to help him, and his family, with bills, and day to day living. Thank you for taking the time to help us spread the word.

This is Cliffs story I have been a suffolk firefighter for 26.5 yrs, in February I ran a call that stuck with me and developed into PTSD I was admitted to the Hospital tye 25th of May and I was transferred to the IAFF Center of Excellence for Mental Health and Rehabilitation. I have been denied workers comp the fire dept has been great the city not so much. My last paycheck was June 30th and I will not return to work until Monday August the 18th. Me and my family needs help. I am getting great help here but my PTSD is so bad that I will be here for 60 days. A average stay is 30 to 35 days. Medical bills are piling up and I have to hire a Workers Comp lawyer to fight VRSA. I have given blood sweat time and tears to Suffolk and only asked to be taken care of in my time of need. I am a NC citizen so I can't even call Emily Brewer and ask for her help on a bill she sponsored that I attended at our Fire Station 6. Before coming to this facility I would have been to proud to ask for help. With the help of therapy I am asking. I have to fight because I will never ride a Fire Engine again. I am managing PTSD it doesn't just go away and if I returned to shift work I will relapse.
