Stand by Carlos in His Time of Need

My name is Angelina, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my father, Carlos Fernandez. Carlos has always been a passionate soccer player and a lively spirit, known for his love of the game and his wild stories from his younger days. He’s been a strong, supportive father who has always pushed me to do my best, and now he’s facing one of the toughest challenges of his life. Carlos has been in the hospital in Philadelphia for over three weeks. After losing his leg last year, he recently had to have part of his foot amputated. He also goes to dialysis four days a week and is suffering from Kaposi’s sarcoma. Carlos lost his kidney transplant, which he waited ten years for, and we are doing everything we can to get him back on the transplant list. This has been incredibly hard for him, especially as someone who lived for soccer and being active. My mother has been by his side every day, and neither of them currently has any income. The financial strain is overwhelming, with ongoing home and car payments, insurance, and the need for specialized equipment to help Carlos regain some independence. We are raising funds to help purchase an electric scooter that will allow my father to get in and out of the car safely, and if possible, a handicap-accessible van. Our current vehicle, a Chevy Tahoe, is too high for him to use. The funds will also help cover essential living expenses and allow my mother to travel between Delaware and Pennsylvania for his medical appointments. Through all of this, Carlos remains strong and determined to recover. Our family is staying positive and encouraging him to keep fighting. Any donation or share means the world to us.
