Stand by Audrey in Her Cancer Journey

Hello beautiful friends and family,

For those of you who did not know, my daughter Audrey had been diagnosed back in the beginning of February with a tumor on her left ovary. Two weeks later she had surgery and what we thought was a five-pound tumor ended up being ten. The tumor caused enough damage to where her doctor had to remove her left ovary and fallopian tube.

We knew going into surgery that Audrey would need chemotherapy yet; we did not know to what existent as we needed to wait for the test results to come back. One-week later Audrey received the news that she had stage 3 Immature Teratoma Germ Cell Cancer. We were told that the survival rates are high, yet stage 3 was not the best news. She was then scheduled to meet with her Oncologist to discuss her treatment plan. Due to the size of her tumor and the type of cancer the Oncologist recommended four rounds of Chemotherapy. She was told that she would be hit hard with the drugs they would be pumping into her body and that the (potential) side effects could cause loss of hearing and respiratory issues. Prior to chemo she would have to have a port inserted in her chest which is common when needing that much chemotherapy.

Audrey has just completed her first round and is now entering that stage of this battle which challenges every part of her mind and body to stay positive and strong.

Her spirits are high, faith lifted, and she has a determined attitude to embrace this with a positive outlook.

Her story, like many others is one that we wish she did not have to go through and like many others she needs your help to ease her financial burden over these next few months.

She is grateful as she does have insurance through her place of employment yet, it won't cover all her medical expenses. Any dollar amount would be greatly appreciated, and Audrey will be jumping on this site from time to time to bring you into her world and let you know how she's doing.

We are trusting and believing that the side effects as mentioned above will not affect Audrey, and that her heart will be encouraged as her days and nights become more challenging.
