My name is Araceli Navarro-Barragan and I am a student at the University of Southern California. I was born and raised in Michigan where my family now resides. My Dad is a victim of the ICE raids that have been growing ramped in our country and was detained on February 7th, 2025. Because of this, my family will inevitably be facing financial struggles. My Mom now has to battle raising my 3 siblings (ages 2, 10, and 15), finding a job, and work through the struggle of finding affordable childcare for my youngest sibling (not much is available where I am from) while she is at work. I am and will be trying to scrap together as much as I can from my own income, but it will not be enough.
