Stamford Contracts Runs for 24th Tottenham Scouts
Donativo protegido
This incredible Scout troop has been around since July 1954, serving young people with a wide range of disabilities, from Down’s syndrome to severe autism, cerebral palsy, and beyond. Entirely Scout-run and led by a dedicated team of volunteers, they have operated continuously since their founding. Every penny of income is used directly to support the children, there are no salaries, no admin costs, just pure commitment to improving young lives.
Based in Scouts Park, Bounds Green (N11) for the last 20 years, the 24th Tottenham Scout Group welcomes boys and girls aged approximately 11 to 25. For many of them, this group is more than just an activity, it’s a lifeline. Membership is completely free, ensuring that finances are never a barrier to inclusion.
They meet every Tuesday evening during term time for engaging activities and social connection. Throughout the year, they also organise 3–4 camping trips, including a couple of weekends and a week-long summer camp, experiences these young people cherish deeply. The countryside may never quite be ready for their energy and enthusiasm, but they always leave it better than they found it, in spirit at least.
The 24th Tottenham is powered by volunteers; musicians, artists, teachers, former Scouts, and the occasional office manager. This means that every single penny raised goes straight to the children and young people. That’s rare. And it’s exactly why we want to raise £2,000 to keep their minibuses on the road, equipment funded, and camping trips running.
And here’s the bit that really gets us:
Over the years, hundreds of children and young adults, especially those from more disadvantaged backgrounds, have passed through the group. For many, the Scouts are the only space they feel truly included. The group meets each young person where they are, not by the number on their birth certificate. That’s rare too. With support withdrawn and costs rising, they need our help now more than ever.
So yes, this is going to hurt.
There will be sweat. Possibly tears. Probably regrets.
But we’ll get through it with your support and a solid playlist.
Please donate whatever you can.
If we hit our £2,000 target, we’ll know it was worth the shin splints.
Thank you in advance, every pound makes a massive difference.
Building strong foundations on site and in the community.
