Support Sta'Laina & Cain

Hi everyone <3

This is Pouneh, Alex and Stephanie. I am sure you know us from various aspects of our lives and we’d like to bring a fundraiser for a dear friend of ours to your attention. Our kind friend/sister Sta’Laina has been experiencing a lot of unfortunate incidents over the last few months. Most notably, earlier this year, she experienced a traumatic incident at the hands of the police in Rancho Cucamonga. This took place while Sta'Laina, who is a Black woman, was staying at a short-term rental and was treated unjustly and criminalized by the police.

This traumatic incident severely triggered her PTSD putting her in a state of severe depression and anxiety, making it impossible for her to consistently work, care for herself or for her sweet emotional support animal, Cain. We are hoping that with some community care and support, we can support Sta’Laina in paying for her May, June, July, August and September 2024 rents and groceries, getting her the mental health services she needs and getting her pet Cain the veterinary services he needs.

Here is a general estimate of some of these costs:

- Her monthly rent of ~ $2300/month for the next few months

- Her groceries of ~ $300/month and Cain’s dog food ~ $100/month for the next few months

- Her phone bill of ~ $120/month for the next few months

- Trauma-informed mental health services ~ $250/week

- Veterinary services for her emotional support animal Cain (blood work ~ $300, x-rays ~$500, pain medication (~ $100/month), anxiety medication (~ $100), anti-itch medication (~ $150/month), antibiotics (~ $100), vaccines ($150), and other needs as he has been fighting a suspected urinary tract infection, environmental allergies, anxiety and intermittently limping for months)

- Other bills and costs as necessary including legal support
