Staff Financially Impacted by Systemic Racism

 
The 2022 Summer Camp program at Hidden Villa was cancelled due to systemic issues within the nonprofit organization. After months of being disrespected, dismissed and having their concerns unheard the camps leadership team resigned on June 5th. Without reaching out to those staff members to hear their concerns, Hidden Villa’s leadership made the decision to cancel all camp programs. While Hidden Villa’s leadership is now beginning to confront these issues so that hopefully trust and healing can begin, many of these staffers have been left houseless and without the financial support they need and deserve. This goal is based on unanticipated expenses summer camp staff are now responsible for related to food and travel. The rest will go directly to Philip and Mimi (Camp’s Directors) while they find housing and new employment.
