Stacia & Story go to SPACE

If you're a parent and a creative (especially a freelancer), you know how essential it is to have the time and space to create. It's difficult to do that at home, where the demands of work and parenting can be all-consuming. It's also tough to find opportunities that allow you to bring your children along. 

When you find that kind of opportunity -- one where you'll have the time and space to create, while your child is receiving quality care onsite, you've got to jump on it. 

Story and I were selected to participate in one such residency! It's called SPACE at Ryder Farm, and includes a weeklong stay on a working organic farm in Putnam County, NY. While I'm working on a novel and on new episodes of my podcast, Hope Chest, Story will be learning about farming and taking on her own creative projects.

Our lodging and meals are paid for, but we're responsible for our round-trip travel. And though that will eventually be reimbursed, the upfront cost of travel is going to be unexpectedly challenging, due to some recent unforeseen expenses.
