Hello friends, family, and community,
We're reaching out during a tender and transformative moment in our lives to ask for support as our family navigates a major transition.
After five years of building and running our small business, this past year brought an unexpected and rapid decline. Despite our best efforts, we've come to the difficult decision to close the business and are currently in the process of declaring bankruptcy.
Letting go of something we poured so much love, labor, and hope into has been deeply emotional, but we're doing our best to move forward with honesty and grace.
At the same time, we are preparing to welcome a new baby into the world late February 2026. This should be a season of anticipation and joy, and while that joy is still very real, it's also paired with financial uncertainty that has made it challenging to meet basic needs like housing and food.
We’re asking for support in whatever way feels possible. As we prepare to welcome our baby, we’re facing housing insecurity and the difficult reality of closing our business.
Financial support during this time would help us keep our housing secure and care for our family through my birthing window and early postpartum. Oliver has recently found new employment, but the income is not yet enough to cover our living expenses and keep us housed while we navigate this transition.
We know this is a challenging financial time for many families, and we want to acknowledge that asking for support can feel like a lot. We hold deep gratitude for any way you're able to show up—whether through giving, sharing, or simply holding us in care.
We believe in the power of community to help us through this vulnerable time. Sharing this is not easy. There is grief in closing one chapter, and vulnerability in opening another and letting people see where we are.
We'd be so grateful if you'd also share this with anyone in your community who has resources they would be willing and desirous of sharing with our family
We are deeply supported by our midwives, Shiela VanDerveer and Taya Mohler, www.heartfolkmidwifery.com, who will be guiding us through a home birth after a previous traumatic C-section with our first son.
Creating a sense of stability and safety during this time means everything to us as we prepare to welcome this new life with care, intention, and hope.
Thank you for reading, for holding us with compassion, and for being part of our village. Your support—whether through giving, sharing, or kind words—means more than we can express.
Funds raised will go directly toward housing costs, groceries, utilities, and other basic living expenses during this transition. This support will allow us to close our business responsibly, prepare for the safe arrival of our baby, and give Oliver the stability to focus on his new employment as we determine our next steps after the baby is born.
With gratitude and hope,
Grace, Oliver and Nico
