Hi, my name is Erika, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.

I am a single mother of two amazing children, and right now we are facing homelessness. I am currently working and doing everything I can to provide for my kids, but despite my efforts, I have not been able to afford stable housing. The cost of living has simply become more than I can manage on my own.

As if this situation weren’t already overwhelming, I am currently in the hospital battling pneumonia and severe asthma. Being sick and hospitalized while worrying about my children and where we will go next has been terrifying. I want nothing more than to recover and be there for my kids, but the uncertainty of our situation weighs on me every moment.

I am not someone who asks for help easily. I have always tried to handle things on my own. But right now, I am asking for support so I can get back on my feet, regain my health, and provide my children with a safe and stable place to live.

The funds raised will help us secure housing, cover move-in costs like a deposit and first month’s rent, and provide basic necessities as I recover and return to work. Most importantly, it will give my children stability and peace of mind during a time that has been incredibly hard on them.
