St Pancras Stores: a vital part of our community

Over the weekend of 29th/30th November St Pancras Stores in Southover was subject to two serious attacks on successive nights when both windows facing the road were smashed by a group of youths.

This remarkable little shop lies right at the centre of our community, supplying everything from a tin of baked beans for the kid’s supper to that essential ingredient that Tesco or Aldi don’t stock. Janak knows most of his regulars by name (and our regular purchases too): the Patel family are part of the warp and weft of this corner of Lewes.

When our neighbourhood WA group first heard of the attack, we wanted to do something to show them how appreciated they are.

So this GoFundMe campaign was born! It won’t be cheap to fix the damage to the shop, so this is a small gesture. But most of all, we want to deliver a message to the family of strong appreciation and support.

I'm just a neighbour who wants to give our community the chance to show Chaula and Janak how valued their family is. They will receive every penny you contribute to this fund.
