Help Us Bring a New Forever Life to Our Ancient Oak Tree!!

Hello everyone!

We're raising funds to commission a beautiful hand-carved wooden bear statue for St. Nicholas Hurst Primary School. Many of you will remember the very old oak tree at the bottom of the school field which unfortunately had to be chopped down several years ago. Many generations of children have collected acorns, and played games under that tree over the past 200 years, so it was very sad to see it go due to age and disease.

While we look forward to a bench from some of the salvaged wood, we are now recognising the need to do something with the stump. St Nicholas PTA has been busy looking for a tree carving design to ensure it has a lasting legacy for the children at St Nicholas and Hurst Village Community. This bear design is now planned and will cost approximately £2,500. The bear will serve as a symbol of strength, community, and school spirit - something pupils, staff and families can be proud of for generations to come. It will sit upon a pile of books upon which the St Nicholas School Values are inscribed "Respect", "Honesty", "Courage" & "Kindness". (The values are ordered "RoCK")

We wish to raise this money through various PTA activities but are also reaching out to the wider Hurst Community who will also be able to enjoy the sculpture. Whether you are a past family, a current family, a future generation or a member of the Hurst Community we would love your help in making this dream a reality.
