St. John's Caring Centre Renovations Fund

St. John's Caring Centre is a small Community Centre primarily used as a social venue for people over 55, where they can socialise together, take part in activities, share experiences, get help completing forms and have access to shops, Post office, Pharmacy. We are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week, we provide lunch and will even deliver lunch to people's home and we provide transport to and from the centre.

The centre is also used for meetings, training sessions, small social events and is available to the community.

The centre is in desperate need of renovations, the building is very old and needs up dating. We have already completed the kitchen renovations and we are applying for grants for the rest but grants are usually paid retrospectively, i.e. you have to spend the money, pay the invoices and then submit to the grant Administration to recoup the funds. Usually with the larger grants, the organisation has to cover some of the costs themselves, around 10%.

St. John's are embarking on a fundraising drive and Go Fund Me is part of this. We are so lucky that we enjoy great support from the local community in Hacketstown but also in the wider community as we provide service in 100SqKm of Hacketstown.
