St John’s allotment & outdoor reading area #FUNDRAISER

Hello my name is Daisy Williams.

Me and some of the pupils at St John’s primary school want to raise money to build an allotment and an outdoor reading area at our school.

On Sunday June 9th we are going to a sponsored 10 km walk along the trans pennine trail, accompanied by our parents and any student from St John’s is more than welcome to join us.

The money we raise will go towards restoring the garden into an allotment as some of the parents have volunteered to come in once a week to teach the children how to grow fruits and vegetables as well as maintain the garden.

also the money raised will go towards purchasing a reading chair and log seats to create the outdoor reading area, where the children can go to relax and escape to wherever their imagination takes them. Some parents have agreed to volunteer and come in each week to read to the children.

This project is very important as the health benefits are endless!

By creating these spaces it will give the children an opportunity to spend more time outside connecting with nature, do part of their learning and create additional elements to their learning.
