St. Catherine's Hospice, in memory of my Dad, Ronnie Pickin.
My Dad lived life to the full and one thing I've learned from losing him is to just go for what you want as you never know what tomorrow will bring. Dad had a fabulous life and was always so active and doing something. He felt a bit 'off' on the golf course one day so we made a Drs appointment and within a week Dad was diagnosed with a glioblastoma and there was no treatment. Within a year, our Dad was gone. Seeing Dad, someone I loved and adored disappear in front of me was absolutely heart-breaking. I lost Dad, as I knew him, a long time before I actually lost him as the tumour took him away bit by bit. Seeing someone so active and well loved go from being extremely independent to being dependant was awful. Dad was the kindest, most loving and supportive Dad you could wish for and he had so many life long friends. He was the best Dad and I miss him so very much.
I have wanted to do a wing walk for some time now but never actually got around to arranging it so even though Dad may have said I was mad for doing this, he would have fully supported me and been my biggest cheerleader on the side line at Headcorn on September 8th 2025.
The money I raise will go to ST. CATHERINE'S HOSPICE, and any donation will help make an impact. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me. The support Dad received from them was amazing and I am so grateful to them for all the support they have given me as a carer.
St Catherine's Hospice is a charity dedicated to providing specialised end of life care and support to local people, their families, friends and carers.
Thank you for all your support.
