My family needs your help….

Hello, I’m Christine Livingston. I need your help. Please!
My niece Allison Livingston, her significant other Wilson Prado and their children Geovany and Alivia have just suffered a tragic event.

Late Wednesday around midnight on January 12, 2022 myself and Allison’s mom Kathy got one of those calls no family wants to get. It’s a FaceTime call from a hysterical Allison yelling to her mom that their apartment building was on fire. All four of them were out safe but had just experienced one of the most terrifying moments of their life’s.

Allison lives in the Georgetown Apartments on East River Rd in Fridley.

Allison told us that her and Wilson had just gone to bed and the kids were asleep when the main fire alarm went off in the building. Unfortunately, this happens often where she lives. She heard it and thought about ignoring it again. Thank God she didn’t. When she opened the door to the hallway she couldn’t see through the smoke. She physically ran into the lady across the hall. She and Wilson hurried to wake up the kids and get their coats and shoes on. The kids left the building ahead of Allison and Wilson grabbed their cat Peaches. In the rush poor Geovanny did not get his glasses. He was unable to see anything and still was brave enough to take care of his sister on the way down the stairs and out of the building. We are so proud of him. ❤️❤️❤️

We stayed on the phone with Allison to help calm her down and waited for what seemed like at least 10 minutes before a fire truck arrived. There was an officer on scene who was casually walking to the front door of the building. They had to yell at him that there was an actual fire. With the fire truck arriving we got off the phone and waited for updates.

Allison called asking us to come get the kids and the cat at around 1:30am. Her and Wilson waited for hours in a bus with the other tenants of the building.

The fire was on the second floor. Allison lived on the third floor on the same end of the building as the fire.

At around 4am Allison was able to follow a firefighter up to her apartment so she could get Geo’s glasses and keys and some clothes.

There is no fire damage to her apartment but severe smoke damage and as of right now they cannot go into the building at all.

The last update from the apartment owners was Friday at 5pm stating no entry until at least Tuesday of next week. There are repairs that need to be done just to make the building safe.

This poor family is living in limbo with nothing but the clothes on their backs with the constant fear and worry that everything they own is ruined and there may be the probability that they no longer have a home.

Our family would greatly appreciate any help you can give. Thank you.

I will continue to update this Gofundme with any new information as we get it
