Dear Atwater Village Community,
Today we, the Atwater Village Tavern family, write to you for help. The COVID-19 virus has affected us all in some way or another, and it has greatly affected the service industry. Atwater Village Tavern has become a staple in our community since opening in 2013, and we had high hopes of staying in business for years to come. On March 15, Mayor Eric Garcetti made the hard call of closing all bars and restaurants until the end of April, but as things are changing daily, we’re not sure where that leaves us.
Atwater Village Tavern with kitchen by Delmy’s Pupusas employs 15 local Atwater residents who are all now unemployed. We do not want our favorite tavern to close its doors, but most importantly we want to ensure that our employees can receive some financial compensation to cover some of their needs through these hard times.
As we come together, your support will help our favorite tavern family keep their doors open and be ready to serve you once again.
Each dollar raised will be going directly to Atwater Village Tavern to help pay for essential rent, utility bills, and some financial assistance for our staff who greatly depend on tips for their livelihood.
We need any help we can get by next month, so that we can make rent, pay the utilities, and offer compensation to our staff while they have been sent home during this general city and statewide lockdown. Every dollar helps, and we are grateful for every single donation. We appreciate you taking the time to read our story, and we hope we can all get out of this stronger together as a community.
