I went to Sri Lanka for 3 weeks with WEP for a volunteering program this summer, and I had the pleasure to visit and volunteer in the Orphanage for disabled (who they properly call "Special Needs"). There were kids, teens, adults, and elderly people, all females. It was an intense week, but also one of the best ones of my life. The Sisters are extremely strong, they work together to help these beautiful human beings, who I could see walking around with a big smile on their faces. They don't take anything for granted and even playing 10 minutes with them would make their day!! Unfortunately they didn't allow to take photos inside the building, but I posted a picture of the informative sheet that they gave us the last days. They live off donations, and they need help. Some of the kids had holes in their clothes, but even so they wouldn't stop smiling. This is also going to be my CAS project for IB, and I would like to raise 3500$ ( which is 564,725 Sri Lankan rupees) before December if it's possible.
