We are the Sri Lankan Society at Royal Holloway University of London, a student led community representing Sri Lankan students and friends of Sri Lanka based in the UK. Through this fundraiser, we are coming together to support families in Sri Lanka who have been severely affected by ongoing economic hardship, natural disasters and limited access to basic necessities.
For many of us, Sri Lanka is home. Our families, relatives and childhood communities are directly impacted by these challenges. Seeing the struggles faced by ordinary people, including families unable to afford food, medicine and essential living costs, has deeply affected us. As students living abroad, we feel a strong responsibility to stand up for our people and give back in any way we can.
All funds raised through this campaign will be sent directly to trusted contacts and local community networks in Sri Lanka who will distribute the support straight to families in need. The donations will be used to provide food supplies, medical essentials, emergency household support and other urgent humanitarian needs.
We are fully committed to transparency. Updates will be shared regularly, including confirmation of transfers and evidence of how the funds are being used where safe and appropriate, so every donor can see the real impact of their generosity.
This fundraiser is not backed by any large organisation. It is powered purely by students, kindness and community spirit. Every donation, no matter how small, truly makes a difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page would also mean the world to us.
From all of us at the RHUL Sri Lankan Society, thank you for your compassion, generosity and support during this critical time.
