URGENT: Help Families Affected by the Sri Lanka Flood Disaster

Severe flooding and landslides across multiple regions of Sri Lanka have brought immense hardship to thousands of families. Torrential rains have destroyed homes, farmlands, schools and vital infrastructure. Landslides have damaged or destroyed hundreds of houses, with more than 300 lives lost and many more people missing. Roads, rail lines and essential services such as water, electricity and communication have also been badly affected. Many families are now displaced, living in temporary shelters and struggling to access clean water, food, medical care and other basic necessities.

At this critical time, your generosity can help provide immediate relief and support longer-term recovery for those who have lost so much.

How Your Donation Will Help

The Mutual Assistance Society Sydney (MASS) is raising funds in stages to support ongoing disaster relief efforts in Sri Lanka. Instalments will be sent to the Disaster Relief Fund at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, managed by the Sri Lankan Government, to ensure help reaches those most in need as quickly as possible.

Your support will go towards:
• Emergency food supplies for displaced families
• Clean drinking water and sanitation items to prevent disease
• Essential medicines and health support
• Temporary shelter, bedding and basic household items
• Rebuilding homes, schools and community facilities
• Support for children and vulnerable families who are most at risk

Every contribution – big or small – can restore hope and dignity to families whose lives have been shattered.
