I am originally from Sri Lanka, now living in Canada. I am a registered social worker in Edmonton, Alberta.

My heart is heavy as I reflect on the devastation caused by the recent floods. This has been one of the worst natural disasters in the country’s history, leaving thousands of families displaced, homes destroyed, and entire communities struggling to rebuild their lives.

In response to this national crisis, the Sri Lankan Government has shared official bank account details for anyone who wishes to offer financial support. As someone who was born in Sri Lanka and still feels deeply connected to my people, I believe it is my responsibility to help in any way I can.

Supporting those affected is not only an act of compassion, but also a way to stand together as a community during one of the most challenging times the country has ever faced.
