Donation protected
Dear Devotees,
With the blessings of the Paramacharya His Holiness Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Swamigal, His Holiness Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal and His Holiness Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal of the Kanchi Kamamoti Peetam, the renovation work of “Shri Om Shakthi Abhayambika - Azhageswari and Azhageswarar” an ancient temple situated at Kumaravadi Village, 75 km off Chennai, (close to Uthiramerur Junction) on the Madras - Tiruchi - Grand Trunk Road, has been commenced by the devotees and the well wishers.
This ancient temple which was constructed over 1200 years ago by a lady named Arasaiyadigal, during the reign of the Pallava king, Nirupathunga Varman (864 A.D), has survived several invasions and is now in a dilapidated condition. The temple has separate goshtams for Lord Muruga, Valampuri Vinayagar, and other Parivara Devatas, besides the presiding deity of Shri Azhageswarar and his consort Shri Om Shakthi Abhayambika. The rock inscriptions found in this temple speak a lot about the history of this ancient temple.
The project of renovation work includes the repairs of the temple precincts, construction of vimanas atop the sanctum sanctorum, a darshan mandap for the devotees, praharams, dwajasthambam, and Lord Iyappa temple within this temple complex. The renovation plan also includes construction of a new compound wall, facilities to provide drinking water, electricity to the entire temple and also to equip with all the necessary amenities.
This divine great task involves huge resources in terms of labor and materials. Please kindly donate liberally to buy building materials and/or vigrahams. We humbly seek your kind participation, help, support & cooperation towards this divine endeavor.
Yours sincerely
