On May 23rd, a team from SRC Infrastructure will be taking on a full marathon — 26 miles of rowing along the River Thames — to raise funds for our local charity partner: Shadwell Basin Outdoor Activity Centre (SBOAC).
Just a short distance from our Canary Wharf office, SBOAC is a hidden gem that’s been changing lives since 1976. Born from the passion of local parents and community leaders, the centre offers safe, inclusive, and adventurous outdoor sports for children and young people of all abilities, including those with autism, sight impairments, and mobility challenges.
In an area where child poverty rates are among the highest in the country, SBOAC is more than just a place to paddle a canoe — it’s a lifeline. A space where confidence is built, courage is found, and lasting friendships are made.
We’re not just rowing for the challenge. We’re rowing for a future where every child can access adventure and where no barrier stands in the way of joy, growth, and belonging.
SBOAC operates on a small budget, with a dedicated team working tirelessly to keep its doors open. Your donation — no matter the size — will help ensure this incredible charity continues to thrive.
Please support us if you can, and help spread the word.
