Squires' Home Flooded in NC

Due to the aftermath of Hurricane Florence, my sister's house is underwater. My sister, Krystal Squires, is a 6th Grade teacher at Topsail Middle School. Before this year, she taught 5th Grade at South Topsail Elementary. My nephews, Brayden and Bryceon, are in 5th and 4th grade. They have evacuated Hampstead, NC and are currently staying with me in Orlando, FL until further notice. It doesn't look like Pender County Schools will be open any time soon due to all the severe flooding everywhere. Krystal's husband, Matthew Squires, is still in NC. He did everything in his power to prevent the water from getting into their home, but in the end, it came anyway. He is now helping my father with the severe damage done to my parent's home on Topsail Island from Florence. Krystal and Matthew are two of the hardest-working and most caring people I have ever met. They are both extremely selfless. They have filed with FEMA and Devastation Unemployment now. They do not live in a "Flood Zone"; therefore, they do not have Flood Insurance. (You cannot purchase it if you're not in a zone for it.) This flood should have never entered their home. The last word we got is that the water inside their house was right under the windows, but that was a couple days ago. It's flooded more since. We're just waiting for the water to go down so we can start fixing what needs to be done. I never in a million years thought I would need to start a fundraiser for my family, but a lot of friends have asked how they could help! Any donation would help and benefit them greatly.
