Hello Neighbors from Springfield, VA and Robert E. Lee Lancers!

Many of you, and I dare say most of you, remember our dear friend Kathy Upchurch, R.E. Lee Class of '78.

Kathy grew up in Springfield on Dickenson and Gilbert Streets.  She is the daughter of David and Alice Upchurch.  Kathy attended Crestwood and Lynbrook Elementary schools, then Key Intermediate and R.E. Lee High School.

In the past 18 months, Kathy lost her father to dementia.  Shortly thereafter, she lost her job.  Despite working with a recruiter and applying for positions nearly everyday, nothing is coming through for her. It's difficult to start anew when you are 60 years old!  Now, Kathy faces eviction from her apartment in Dale City. She has been unable to make her rent over the past few months.  If you know of a room for rent that may be appropriate for Kathy, let us know.

So, I'd like to ask you, as a neighbor, or classmate, or simply as an act of kindness, to contribute to this Go Fund Me account.  This will help Kathy avoid eviction from her apartment and bridge the gap in her income until she is working again.
