Spreyton Scouts New Building

Spreyton Scout Group needs your help to build a new hall.

Spreyton Scout group is one of the largest scout groups in Tasmania, our group has been established in our hall for more than 40 years.

We currently have excellent attendance of our joeys, cubs, and scouts. Our leaders, committee and dedicated volunteers have a strong commitment to continue our group well into the future and ensure we offer our youth the opportunities and adventures that scouting has to offer

Unfortunately, our beloved scout hall has been sold so we need to find a new base from which to operate. The new owners of our premises have allowed us to stay on as tenants for 12 months with the expectation our group will vacate at the end of the period, August 2023.

 

All our members and the local community want scouting to continue in the Spreyton area, so we have been working hard behind the scenes to work out a solution.

After much hard work on finding a new facility that meets our needs Devonport City Council has generously offered our group land at Maidstone Park.

We are so thankful for this chance to re-establish our group in the new location that we are now determined to make the most this opportunity.

 

Now, we need your support to help us raise the funds to build a new hall on the new site. Your assistance in this will have enormous benefits to the scouting groups, the families and the broader community of this area. The new scout hall will also be the headquarters for the Mersey District Group, and we will be able to share the space with the community for other events

The estimated cost to build this facility is $450,000 so we are now starting to raise funds needed for its construction.
