Hi, my name is Sasha, and I’m based in Southern Maryland. Homelessness is something that has always deeply resonated with me, because the truth is, it could be the reality for any of us. Regardless of how someone got there, they are still human, still deserving of care, warmth, and love.

This Valentine’s Day, a few friends and I want to give love where it’s often overlooked. We are raising funds to create approximately 48 Valentine care bags that we'll be handing out directly to unhoused individuals in Washington, DC.

Each bag will include:

• Hand warmers

• Gloves

• Socks

• ChapStick & lotion

• Body wipes

• Candy

• A handwritten note reminding them they matter

Our goal is to raise $350, which will allow us to make all 48 bags. Approximately $6 will help fund one complete care bag. If the full amount isn’t reached, every dollar raised will still be used to create as many care bags as possible.

This isn’t about charity, it’s about humanity. A small act of kindness, especially during the cold winter months, can mean more than we realize.
