Empowering Indigenous Youth in Ontario

Donation protected
The 9 communities of Couchiching, Lac La Croix, Seine River, Red Gut, Manitou, Northwest Bay, Mitaanjigamiing, Big Grassy, and Big Island have a population of approximately 20 thousand people. Treaty Three Police Service in Couchiching – known as Treaty Three South Detachment (T3PS - South) will serve our youth from a policing perspective by facilitating group sports and recreational programming. Team sports for youth boast benefits like higher self-esteem, improved academics, and lower stress levels.

In collaboration with T3PS - South, the Youth Empowerment Support (YES) Group is seeking donations to purchase this sports equipment for recreational programming for Indigenous youth in these communities. Our most recent project is to repair the dilapidated hockey rink in Couchiching.

We have seen the benefits of similar programming in other Ontario communities and are excited to make this a reality. Thank you to all readers and all donors. This would not be possible without you!
