Sponsoring Sophia to make a difference in Zimbabwe & Zambia!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sophia and in July 2025 I will be going to Zimbabwe and Zambia with the Tag Rugby Trust. Whilst I am there, I will be visiting schools to coach tag rugby. I'm also going to be involved in community projects, like conservation and conflict work. But mainly, I plan to have fun with children who are my age and hopefully help make a small difference in their lives.
Most people don't know this, but Zambia is still one of the world's poorest countries. Over 60% of Zambians live in poverty, and that's rising every year. In Zimbabwe, Covid-19 and prise increases means 50% are either in poverty, or vulnerable to it.
It is going to be a very adventurous trip and I will need to show lots of responsibility and initiative. There will be no phones and we will be staying in huts for most of the trip, but it is worth it.
Please help me get there.
To fund this volunteering trip, I will be doing lots of things throughout the year, both with my school and on my own.
- Throughout the year, I will be making and selling as many macarons and cookies as I can (I have already raised over £100 doing this)
- On 22nd February I am walking from Esher C of E High School to The Embassy of Zimbabwe on the Strand. It's nearly an 8 hour walk!
- I will also be taking part in a 12-hour relay in March, starting at 5.30pm and ending at 5.30am.
I would be really grateful if you would sponsor me as much or as little as you can. So that together we can do something pretty amazing.
