Hi, I am Gerhard and fundraising on behalf of my daughter Chaniya as part of her community engagement activity with the British Army Cadet Force for which I am a volunteer Sergeant in my free time.
The Homemeah nursery in KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa operates in a very deprived area and looks after orphans from babies to primary schoolers who have nowhere else to go. The nursery has little to no state funding and relies heavily on donations. Their situation is truly heartbreaking as they have little or nothing to go by. However the dedicated staff do not give up and can use any help they can get. For some years now the Warwickshire Army Cadet Force has supported the nursery. In 2027, a total of 22 carefully selected cadets (aged between 14 and 18) will travel to South Africa to visit the nursery as part of their community engagement responsibilities to undertake support work to keep the nursery in operation. This is a lifechanging event for the cadets and adult support staff which will instill a lifelong charitable spirit in each one of them. Each cadet is fundraising for this trip to cover the cost and, more importantly, to donate to the nursery. My daughter Chaniya (corporal) together with her friends Emily (staff sergeant) and Tobias (corporal) have decided to carry out a sponsored walk on 21st March, walking 30 miles from the Army Cadet headquartes in Tennal (Birmingham) to the Cadet Training Centre in Bramcote to raise funds. The funds will go directly towards the community engagement activity for which each selected cadet is fundraising.
Please sponsor these young people in their quest with what you can give, any donation will be greatly appreciated!
