Hi my name is Paula.

Shelby’s Place based in Shaz’s Shabby Chic has been a lifeline for me and many other people in Buckley and surrounding areas, we would be lost without the incredible resource.

Sharon (known to many as Shaz) has just won the Great Neighbour Award BBC Cymru Wales for supporting people in the community, many of whom are suffering with their mental health and issues that trigger mental health problems. Shaz is understanding, non judgemental and easy to talk too (thank you Shaz).

I am a member of Shelby’s Choir and also pop in for a cuppa & chat. I find Shelby’s Place is a safe place where I am able to express myself without judgement. There are any activities there, Gentleman’s afternoon, Shelby’s Choir, Chair Yoga, Sensory Sessions, Knit & Natter to name a few, they also do parties for children.

Shelby’s Place receive no funding so I have decided to do a sponsored swim to raise much needed funds so that this amazing safe place can continue to support us and also raise awareness around mental health issues.

I will be swimming the length of the English Channel (Dover to Calais) in Buckley Swimming Pool, a total of 21 miles, 1344 lengths in total. Please give generously for this valuable resource. Thank you so much Paula ❤️
