My Story
My name is Ross, and in 2025 I completed a 12‑week residential treatment programme with Acorn Recovery Projects. When I arrived, I was broken, lost, and unsure of who I was anymore. Acorn didn’t just help me get sober — they helped me rebuild my life from the inside out. They gave me structure, support, honesty, and a community that believed in me long before I believed in myself.
Today, I’m proud to say I’m in recovery and volunteering with Acorn, helping others who are walking the same difficult path I once did. Every day I’m reminded of how powerful connection, compassion, and second chances can be.
Why This Fundraiser Matters
Rehab services like Acorn change lives — not just for the people in treatment, but for their families, their children, and their communities. But these services rely heavily on funding to keep their doors open and continue offering hope to those who need it most.
I want to give something back. I want to show what recovery can look like. And I want to bring people together to support a cause that saves lives.
The Challenge
I, alongside other's in the recovery community and those currently in treatment, will be taking on a sponsored hike up Mount Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales. This climb represents more than a physical challenge — it symbolises the journey of recovery itself:
• tough at times
• full of unexpected turns
• easier with support
• and worth every step
I’m inviting the community to stand with me, support the climb, and help raise as much as we can for Acorn Recovery Projects.
How You Can Help
Your donation — big or small — will directly support people battling addiction, giving them access to treatment, therapy, and the chance to rebuild their lives just like I did.
Together, we can help someone else reach their summit.
