Sponsor Mitch. Celebrate Justice. Stand with him to protect our LGBTQIA+ Rights by Considering Matthew Shepard.
Week of July, 4th-12th, 2025.
GFM Campaign remains open till July 31, 2025.

This week-long Berkshire Choral experience is time to build connection in community, rehearse, tell the story, collectively grieve and celebrate the Legacy of Matthew Shepard. Make a meaningful contribution and support Mitch's work in Social Justice. This is RIGHT Action at the RIGHT time.

Mitch received the invitation through GALA choruses, applied and was selected to sing with Berkshire Choral International for their poignant and timely tribute, Considering Matthew Shepard. As a young college student, Matthew was dragged through a field, beaten, and left for dead on a Wyoming fence in 1998. But the story doesn't end with the fence. In the aftermath of Shepard's death, we gained incredible protections, a modicum of safety and stepped up justice in the freedom to live our lives out loud because of Shepard's sacrifice. We owe a debt of thanks, gratitude and our very lives to those who've made contributions and gone before us.

There was a time when the legal definition of a Hate Crime didn't include discrimination against Queer people on the basis of perceived "sexual orientation" and "gender identity". Just less than 20 years ago, LGBT Activists, including Judy Shepard, Matthew's Mother fought to see those protections enacted into law in 2009 as the Hate Crimes Protection Act. Mitch is thrilled to engage in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, continuing to educate audiences about Queer history by telling the stories, building connection in community, collectively grieving and celebrating together our successes and strides towards Justice in the Legacy of Matthew Shepard.

During this time when rights are disappearing at an alarming rate, it is easy to feel helpless or overwhelmed over next steps. You can take action to stand with and for Right Action at the Right time rather than "against" All the hate being spewed All the time.
Sponsor Mitch. Support his work. Celebrate Justice.
