Hi, my name is Gyles. I am 17, living in South East London, and I'm an aspiring student with an ambition to travel and explore the cultures and communities of different countries all over the world.

Following in my Dad's footsteps and honouring his memory, I have chosen to take part in a gap year with Project Trust after growing up hearing about the amazing experience which he had in Zimbabwe in 1991. Therefore, in August of 2026 I plan to volunteer for a year in Thailand teaching English to school children.

To raise money for this incredible opportunity, I have been making handmade soap to sell door to door and at Christmas Fairs . Furthermore, I have taken part in a virtual Race Across the World whereby I, alongside some teammates, competed against other groups to walk, swim, or cycle the length of London to Ethiopia on Strava.
