As the crisis in Ethiopia has escalated through out the regions, many children have lost their parents and/or guardian and left to fend for themselves. Many of these children have to travel miles, knocking from door to door asking for food in exchange for dua (supplication) This is especially hard during Ramadan considering the heat and long fasting hours. As we practice one of the pillars of Islam during Ramadan, lets not forget the orphans who do not have the luxury of having food, running water, a warm house or even clean clothes. In a hadith of the Prophet ﷺ (SAW), narrated by Muslim “When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them.” For just $50, you are able to feed and clothe an orphan for a month, create this good deed legacy for yourself for “The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this,“and he ﷺ (SAW) held his two fingers together to illustrate’.
