During a recent Soul Caravan group trip to Kenya, we had the privilege of participating in a volunteer day at the Al Walidayn Centre — an inspiring community hub that serves as both a home for orphaned children and a vital support system for the surrounding village.

While visiting, we saw something that moved us deeply: a secondary school in the early stages of construction, born out of hope and determination, but in need of funding to become a reality.

Currently, the Al Walidayn Centre runs a primary school, which provides much-needed education to young children from both the orphanage and the wider community. But once the children complete primary school, there is no local secondary school available. Students are forced to travel long distances—if they can afford it—to access continued education. For many, this means their schooling simply ends too soon.

This is where we come in.

The Goal: £10,000 to Sponsor One Classroom

As travelers with Soul Caravan, we were deeply inspired by the resilience and hope of this community. We've come together to raise £10,000 to sponsor the building of one secondary school classroom, as part of a larger effort to make secondary education accessible right where it's needed most.

This classroom will not only benefit the children living at the Al Walidayn orphanage but also serve hundreds of children in the surrounding community, helping to break the cycle of poverty through education.

Why It Matters

Access to Education: Without a nearby school, many children drop out after primary level.

Empowering the Community: A local secondary school uplifts the entire region, giving youth a real chance to build a better future.

Sustainable Impact: Classrooms are permanent, long-term investments in the lives of generations to come.

How You Can Help

We’re asking friends, family, and anyone who believes in the power of education to contribute whatever they can. Every donation, big or small, moves us closer to our goal.

If you'd like to leave a lasting impact in a community that touched our hearts, please donate and help us build this classroom.

Let’s turn inspiration into action.

Thank you.
