Hi, I’m Jumela, a secondary school science teacher who has faith in humanity and believes in the power of the people.

Many of you will know me as a family member, friend or colleague. I figured, with your help, we could sponsor a UK surgeon in Gaza.

The devastating atrocities in Gaza continue. People are being killed at aid distribution centres. Choosing to feed your family can cost you your life.

As the world turns its attention elsewhere, the onslaught in Gaza worsens. Now more than ever, we need to speak up and act.

I’m trying to raise £7,000 to sponsor one volunteer surgeon for a full deployment in Gaza, through Islamic Help, a Birmingham based charity. It’s an ambitious target but it is possible. These doctors are humanitarians, risking their lives to save others. They work for free. Your donation covers travel, insurance, logistics and medical supplies.

The next mission is in July. Islamic Help’s surgeons were recently featured in a Sky News documentary, showing the reality on the ground:

The deadline to donate is 30th June 2025. Whatever funds I have by then, I will transfer to the charity directly.
