Spinnaker View Communial Garden
Donation protected
My name is Christine and l live at Spinnaker View in Gosport.
Spinnaker View, consists of 60 affordable rental one and two-bedroom apartments for people aged 55 and over with care and support needs. These homes are ideal for people aged over 55 who wish to remain independent with the reassurance of our on-site care and support teams are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Within the site is a beautiful communial garden that allows residents to sit in a restful environment and the opportunity to continue to look after and take care of some of the plants. There are specific areas for residents to plant their own flowers in raised beds and also to tend to the main plants in the large communial garden.
To this end we require a safe place to store the gardening equipment you would normally have in a garden of your own - namely a shed.
The shed needs to go on a permanent and safe concrete base and the shed be big enough to allow access for people with varying physical needs.
The garden gives many residents a place to find peace after giving up their own gardens to move here. The act of gardening is a thing some find therapeutic for peace of mind. Gentle exercise in the fresh air and the enjoyment of seeing bulbs blooming in the spring; continuing through the summer with burst of colours that those who are partially sighted can see and enjoy as they either walk along the path or sit on the many chairs scattered around the garden.
