Spin for Solidarity: AAPI Heritage Month Charity Ride
Donation protected
In honor of AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) Heritage Month, we’re riding with purpose, pride, and power to support those affected by the tragic Lapu-Lapu Day Festival Vancouver attack.
WHO WE ARE
My name is Natalie Kwong, an instructor at SPINCO Toronto. Alongside my community, I’m organizing this charity spin event to raise awareness and provide tangible support for impacted communities. Inspired by the fundraising efforts of SPINCO Cloverdale, we felt compelled to create an opportunity for people in Toronto to contribute and show their solidarity.
OUR CONNECTION TO THE CAUSE
While we may be miles away, the pain of this tragedy resonates deeply. As part of the AAPI community, I believe in the power of movement and unity to amplify our voices and create positive change. This ride is a way for us to stand together, even from afar, and turn our grief into action.
HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to Kapwa Strong, a donation fund organized by Filipino BC in partnership with United Way BC, to provide critical support for victims and their families. Funds will help cover essential needs such as medical expenses, mental health support, and community rebuilding initiatives.
